Manglo — Privacy Policy
Manglo ("the app") is an Android photo editor made by iMango Studio ("we"). This policy explains what happens to your photos and what little data the app sends.
1. Summary
Your photos stay on your phone. Every edit is processed on your device, and photos, thumbnails, file names and anything about what is in a photo are never uploaded to us or anyone else. The app has no accounts, no servers of ours and no in-app purchases. It does use two Google services: Google AdMob for one optional video ad (section 4) and Google Analytics for Firebase for anonymous usage statistics (section 5). You can limit both, see section 6. We don't sell any data.
2. What the app accesses on your device
| Access | Why | What happens to it |
|---|---|---|
| Photos you pick (Android photo picker) | Open the photo you want to edit. The app only gets the photos you choose, never your whole library | Edited on your device only; never uploaded |
| Saving to your gallery | Save the edited photo to the "Manglo" album | Stored on your device only. Location (GPS) data is removed from saved photos by default; you can turn this off when saving |
| Storage (Android 9 and below only) | Older Android versions need this permission to save photos to the gallery | Local only |
| Internet and advertising ID | Used only by the Google AdMob and Firebase SDKs to load the optional video ad and send usage statistics | Sent to Google, see sections 4 and 5 |
3. Data stored on your device
Your saved looks, favorites and settings are kept in the app's private storage on your phone. Temporary files made while saving a photo are deleted right after. Uninstalling the app or clearing its data removes all of this. Photos you saved stay in your gallery until you delete them.
4. Advertising (Google AdMob)
The only ad is one you choose to watch: a short video that lets you try a Premium filter on the photo you have open. There are no ads on the home screen, in the editor or when saving. Ads are served by Google AdMob, a third-party service run by Google. To serve, measure and personalize ads and to prevent fraud, the AdMob SDK may collect:
- Device identifiers, such as the Android advertising ID
- Your IP address and the approximate location derived from it
- Ad interactions (for example, whether the ad was shown or finished) and basic device and app information
This data goes directly to Google, not to us, and is handled under Google's Privacy Policy. See how Google uses information from apps that use its services. If your phone is offline or no ad is available, no ad is shown.
5. Usage statistics (Google Analytics for Firebase)
To see which tools are used and make the app better, the app sends anonymous usage statistics to Google Analytics for Firebase:
- App events: the editor was opened, a filter or a saved look was applied or saved (filter name only), an adjustment or crop tool was used (tool name only), a photo was saved (format, how long it took, whether it worked), the video ad was watched
- Information Firebase collects on its own: an app instance ID, your device's advertising ID when your ad consent allows it, device model, operating system, language, app version, approximate location (country / city) derived from your IP address, and when and how long the app is opened
Nothing from your photos is ever part of these statistics. We see them only as totals in Google Analytics; they are not linked to your name or to any account. Google keeps them for up to 14 months. See Privacy and Security in Firebase.
6. Your choices
- In the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland, the app asks for your consent with Google's consent form before any ad or statistic. Your answers apply to both: without consent to store information on your device, no statistics are collected and ads are not personalized. You can change your answers at any time in Settings → Ad and data privacy choices.
- Anywhere, Settings → Share usage statistics turns statistics off completely.
- Resetting or deleting your advertising ID in Android settings (Settings → Privacy → Ads, or Settings → Google → Ads, depending on your phone) also applies to ads and statistics.
- To ask us to delete data, email us at the address below. Statistics are not linked to a person, and Google deletes them after 14 months.
7. Children
Manglo is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect data from children.
8. Changes
If this policy changes (for example, if a paid upgrade is added later), we update this page and the effective date above.
