Meow Paws
Summary
Meow Paws has no accounts, and we do not collect or store any personal information on our own servers. The game shows ads from Google AdMob, and uses Google Analytics for Firebase to understand how the game is played (for example which levels are too hard). Google may collect some device information for both, as described below. The game itself can be played offline.
Information we collect
The game has no sign-in and no purchases with real money. We do not receive your name, email, precise location, contacts or photos. The only information we see is anonymous gameplay statistics from Google Analytics for Firebase, described below.
Information stored on your device
To remember your progress, the game keeps a small save file on your own device only. It contains:
- levels unlocked and stars earned, including event levels;
- boosters you own and event prizes or outfits you have won;
- your settings (music, sound, vibration).
This file never leaves your device and we cannot see it. Uninstalling the game or clearing its data in Android settings deletes it.
Advertising (Google AdMob)
The game shows ads provided by Google AdMob:
- optional rewarded ads you can choose to watch, for example to free up your tray after losing a level or to get one more booster;
- from time to time, a full-screen ad between levels after you win;
- a banner ad at the bottom of the screen while the game is paused, or when the main menu is left untouched for a while.
Ads are limited to content suitable for general audiences. To show, measure and limit ads and to prevent fraud, Google may collect and process:
- your device's advertising ID;
- device and app information, such as device model, operating system, language and app version;
- approximate location derived from your IP address;
- ad interactions, such as ads viewed or tapped.
This data goes directly to Google; we do not receive it. See How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services and the Google Privacy Policy.
Your choices: in the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland, the game asks for your consent through Google's consent form before personalised ads are shown, and you can change that choice at any time with the ad privacy button in the game's settings. Anywhere, you can reset or delete your advertising ID, or opt out of ad personalisation, in Android Settings → Google → Ads (or Settings → Privacy → Ads).
Analytics (Google Analytics for Firebase)
To see how the game is played and make it better, for example to find levels that are too hard, the game sends anonymous usage statistics to Google Analytics for Firebase:
- game events: levels started, won, lost or left, stars, time spent, tiles left, boosters used, rewarded or full-screen ads shown, tutorial steps, event levels and prizes, advent gift boxes opened, outfits worn;
- progress summaries: furthest level reached and total stars;
- information Firebase collects on its own: an app instance ID, your device's advertising ID when ads consent allows it, device model, operating system, language, app version, approximate location (country / city) derived from your IP address, and when and how long the game is opened.
We see these statistics only as totals in Google Analytics; they are not linked to your name or to any account. Google keeps them for up to 14 months. See Privacy and Security in Firebase and the Google Privacy Policy.
Your choices: in the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland, the answers you give in Google's consent form also apply to analytics: without consent to store information on your device, analytics does not store identifiers, and your advertising ID is only used with consent. You can change that choice with the ad privacy button in the game's settings. Anywhere, resetting or deleting your advertising ID in Android settings also applies to analytics.
Permissions
- Internet and network state: used to load ads and send analytics. The game plays without a connection; ads are simply not shown then, and analytics are sent later.
- Advertising ID: used by Google AdMob and Google Analytics for Firebase as described above.
- Vibration: short haptic feedback when you tap tiles. You can turn it off in the game settings.
Third-party services
Google Play (download and updates), Google AdMob (ads) and Google Analytics for Firebase (usage statistics), all under the Google Privacy Policy.
Children
Meow Paws is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we will help remove it.
Changes to this policy
If a future version changes how data is used (for example adding sign-in or purchases), this policy will be updated before that version is released, and the effective date above will change.
